Hesketh 'Scissor Hands' Riesling

Clare Valley

Hesketh Riesling

In the remaining hot days of the season, the perfect wine should be as refreshing as a lemonade icypole, and that, to me, means a young, dry Riesling, cracklingly cold from the fridge.(On a hot day, it pays to over chill your wine a bit as the ambient heat will bring the wine to a perfect 'room temperature' as you enjoy - but I digress).

This little Clare Valley number ticks all the boxes. Fresh and bright, with lemon and lime aromatics and just a touch of honey. On the palate, the citrus fruit burst is tempered with a touch of fruit sweetness and a flinty minerality, which is both refreshing and very moreish.

The name is inspired by the artwork on the label - a whimsical piece by Melissa Egan depicting a garden party scene - pretty packaging for a very pretty wine - and at $20 a pop, it won't break the bank. Crack a bottle on a warm evening and enjoy it with a friend in a beautiful garden somewhere.

Price: $20.00
