2009 St Hallett Faith Shiraz

Barossa Valley, South Australia

St Hallett

There is plenty to love about this Shiraz. Winemaker, Toby Barlow continues to bring his cooler climate touch to Barossa, producing wines with freshness, style and elegance. Faith is sourced from vineyards from Lyndoch to Eden Valley giving the team a chance to create modern Barossan. One that remains true to its roots but in a style that will lighten those palates burdened by wines that seek to overpower rather than delight.

Fragrant with ripe cherry raspberry perfume bursting from the glass, there is more than a pinch of pepper and spice. This abundance is continued with just a hint of Barossan chocolate on the oh! so mouth-filling and supple palate. There can be no doubt that Faith rewards generously.

This is a wine that is made to share whatever the occasion. It is robust and juicy enough to match a Sunday roast rubbed with a warm spice seasoning yet is one of those wines that needs no accompaniment. While you could keep it for a few years in the cellar, I would drink it fresh and youthful.
