2003 Starve Dog Lane Shiraz Viognier
Adelaide Hills, South Australia

The 2003 Starve Dog Lane, from the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, is a contemporary version of the increasingly popular Shiraz Viognier blend. Exotic fruits are coupled with spice and appealing black pepper, with a solid backbone of ripe black cherry. Inclusion of Viognier, at 6% of the blend, gives an appealing fragrance to the nose and a lift to the palate. This is a vivacious, drink-now style, suited to casual dining. At $19 it is very well priced – great for Friday night drinking when the long, hard week is over and the fun of the weekend begins.
